About Us
Private Banker Prestige Estates delivers real estate brokerage services in San Diego's North County Coastal communities, with specialized focus in Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Carmel Valley, Solana Beach, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Olivenhain, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Santaluz and Poway.

Partners Dave Baker and Steve Knight established the firm in 2004 with the intention of creating a personalized real estate practice that would grow to meet the demands of the market, yet never outgrow a founding philosophy for meeting the uniquely individual concerns of each client. Together, they bring a dynamic and diverse range of resources to the firm, including their considerable accomplishments and discerning ethics, in the marketing, purchase, and sale of residential real estate.
Beyond their extensive knowledge in the residential home market, the partners also bring successful investment and commercial real estate experience, which allows them to assist and advise their clients in all types of real estate holdings.
The key to Dave & Steve's exceptional service is their down-to-earth approach to engaging with people. They are committed to handling each transaction as if they were the principals, always holding their clients' best interests to heart.
Our Foundation and Giving Activities
Fountain of Hope Foundation
Giving back is a cornerstone of Prestige Estates. The Fountain of Hope Foundation was created in 2007 as a non-profit organization with a commitment to provide financial, physical and quality of life assistance to the underprivileged and those in need in the U.S. and targeted areas around the world. Ongoing funding for the foundation comes from a percentage of The Prestige Estates' revenues and from other charitable donations.

The Philanthropy Club Foundation
In late 2009, we teamed-up with the Coastal Community Foundation, headquartered in Encinitas, to form The Philanthropy Club Foundation, a project to teach youth the value and joys of selfless giving. The inaugural presentation to five 3rd grade classes (over 100 students) occurred on April 30 at Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary (OPE) in Carlsbad. The program included a formal lesson defining 'philanthropy', followed by classroom and homework assignments to research four local charitable organizations for which the students made decicions to donate money. The Philanthropy Club Foundation provided $2,000 to the OPE 3rd graders to gift out to these four organizations.
Additional teaching activities are scheduled throughout 2010 at various North County elementary schools. Funding for this project comes from a percentage of The Prestige Estates' revenues and other charitable donations.
Meet the Partners
Steve Knight, Broker Partner
Steve Knight has over 11 years experience in the real estate industry, with a highly successful record representing high net worth clients in the sale and acquisition of prime residential & commercial properties. He holds his brokers license in California and has extensive experience managing sales and leasing transactions, both in and outside of California.
Prior to his real estate career, Dr. Knight founded Knight Chiropractic Wellness Centers, where he was the lead doctor from 1987 until his retirement in 1998. The wellness centers continue to operate today and Dr. Knight enjoys many long lasting friendships with former patients.
Steve enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Rhonda, and their three children, at their home in Olivenhain. Interests include writing and playing music, golfing, gardening and hiking.
Dave Baker, Broker Partner
Dave Baker began his real estate career in 2003, with a substantial sales record prior to beginning his partnership with Steve Knight in mid 2004. He holds a California brokers license and is the broker of record.
Prior to his real estate career, Dave spent 25 years holding executive positions with high tech firms such as NCR, Fujitsu and Open Text. He was the primary business contract negotiator in numerous multi-million dollar contracts with clients such as Pepsi-Cola, Frito-Lay, U.S. Bank and Bank One. This experience has proven invaluable as Prestige Estates negotiates its real estate transactions.
Dave is active in his local church and various local organizations. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Jill, and their blended family of five sons and one daughter at their home in Carmel Valley. Interests include golf, running, cycling and gourmet cooking.
